Aylestone Hill - Ange Tyler
It has been my pleasure to represent the Aylestone Hill City and County Wards for the last 4 years since being elected in May 2019.
There have been many challenges for us all over the 4 years, particularly the dreadful pandemic that strictly locked us down in our homes for nearly two years. However, the support of families, friends, neighbours, council link-workers and hundreds of volunteers was truly inspiring and although many of our lives were, and continue to be, affected, I am grateful for the way our community pulled together. It made me very proud of the ward and County.
The Whitehouse Community Hub remains one of my priorities, and I will continue to support our volunteers that welcome residents and visitors of all ages, who pop in for a cuppa, advice and a bit of company. It is truly humbling to see how the Hub has grown and is helping to make precious memories for all. One great example was the Queen’s 70th Jubilee Street party at the beginning of June 2022, when many of the community enjoyed games, great food and entertainment. Through the City Council we were able to provide some extra funding for the food and buy a commemorative bench which now sits in front the Whitehouse Hub. A great day had by all.
On a more serious note, issues remain that I am working through determinedly on your behalf - problems with parking, the urgent need for traffic calming and measures to address rat-running on Whittern Way, dog mess, littering, overgrown hedges, potholes, loss of trees on the Lugg, the need to improve the children’s play areas. And Herefordshire Council has committed finally to creating 20mph residential zones here to help with inappropriate speed.
I promise that I will continue to do my best to protect and enhance the ward and support you all when you require my help with any matters that arise.
I will be privileged to be your Councillor again and thank you for your support over the last 4 years.
